Back pain is one of the most common reasons people seek care, and one of the most frequently mistreated. Most back pain does not need surgery. It needs an accurate diagnosis.
How we evaluate back pain
Your visit begins with a detailed history and a hands-on examination. Where appropriate, we use in-office ultrasound to visualize muscles, joints and soft tissue in real time, and we review any imaging you already have. The goal is to distinguish between muscular, joint-related, discogenic and nerve-related pain, because each is treated differently.
Treatment approach
Treatment is tailored to the diagnosis and may include ultrasound-guided injections to inflamed facet joints or sacroiliac joints, trigger point injections for muscular pain, peripheral nerve blocks for nerve-mediated pain, and regenerative options such as PRP for degenerative or chronic conditions. Every plan includes guidance on movement and activity so improvement lasts.
