Conditions Treated
Same-day treatment is often available following consultation.
Platelet-Rich Plasma is prepared from a small sample of your own blood. Platelets are concentrated and re-injected into damaged tissue, where their growth factors help stimulate the body's repair process.
Who is PRP for?
PRP is commonly used for mild to moderate osteoarthritis of the knee, hip and shoulder; chronic tendon conditions such as tennis elbow, rotator cuff tendinopathy and patellar tendinopathy; ligament injuries; and some forms of chronic back pain. It is often considered when conventional treatments have offered incomplete or short-lived relief, or when a patient wishes to avoid repeated corticosteroid injections.
What to expect
PRP is an in-office procedure that takes roughly 45 to 60 minutes. Mild soreness for a few days is normal and is part of the intended healing response. Improvement is typically gradual over four to twelve weeks. Some conditions benefit from a series of treatments.
Cost and insurance
PRP is generally not covered by insurance and is offered as a self-pay service. Pricing is discussed transparently during your consultation.
